Storage Industry Podcasts You Shouldn't Miss

Listening to podcasts is a great way to not only learn about the storage industry, but to stay in touch with what other developers and operators are going through and thinking. Also, if you are anything like me, your friends and family are only willing to talk about storage so much during any given conversation.

Though these podcasts' primary focus is self-storage, they all touch on other aspects of the storage industry - boat and RV storage, flex warehouse, contractor yards and storage condos - in many episodes. I've put these podcasts in order of my preference. I'd love to hear from readers that may listen to others that they want to add to this list and my listening repertoire.

  1. The Self Storage University Podcast - I never miss an episode of this podcast. Episodes are short, organized and to the point. Best of all, the host Frank Rolf is opinionated and tells it like he sees it. Many, many golden nuggets in these. If you have 10 minutes, you have time for this podcast.

  2. Creating Wealth Through Self Storage Podcast - Mark Helm tapes these podcasts in conjunction with his YouTube videos. He has great advice for the new and experienced developer and operator, and more content about developing than most other podcasters.

  3. Storage Investor Nation Podcast - Though this podcast appears to have ceased putting out new conten in April of this year, I recommend going back through its history. Host Kris Bennett is interesting and does a great job interviewing his guests. My favorite thing is that he is one of the only storage podcasters that is more interested in pulling knowledge and stories from his guests than self-promotion.

  4. Self Storage Investing Podcast - This is the most professionally produced podcast in terms of presentation. Host Scott Meyers welcomes a wide range of guests who cover all aspects of storage.
